Designed to make a difference.

There’s a certain moment when you brush the soft edge of a well-worn armrest, feel the slight resistance of a drawer gliding open, or lift the solid weight of a chair—and you just know. It’s quality. You don’t need a label or a designer’s signature to tell you so. It announces itself.

As Danes, ever obsessed with form and function, we long to create pieces that evoke this exact sensation. Our “modest” ambition at PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED is to make furniture, lighting, and décor worthy of joining the ranks of esteemed modern classics. Pieces that belong to no trend, no moment in time.

This might sound a bit far-fetched, we know, but it all stems from a profound respect and an insatiable curiosity about design heritage, architecture, and form. We can’t help ourselves. Luckily, other people from all around the world have the same itch. And we get to work with them.

WITH A LITTLE HELP.

PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED is a catalyst for creative outbursts—a platform, or maybe even a playground, if you will. We wouldn’t be here without the insanely talented people we’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with.

To get the ball rolling, we’ve created a playful framework of design principles— one that channels fresh perspectives, cultural influences, material choices, and the craftsmanship of the dedicated international designers, artists, and manufacturers who come to play with us.

It’s an unconventional approach that seeks not just to create, but to explore the boundaries of possibility—ultimately delivering responsible solutions that are as surprising as they are recognizable.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

A PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED piece is instantly recognizable—defined by bold characteristics, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to interaction, craftsmanship, and durability. Always made to last, every design is sustainable in its own right. (Yes, that’s a thing.)

A key feature of our work is the use of striking geometric elements and a carefully curated color palette, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious feel across the collection.

Most of the time, we try to create something new and exciting. But we also believe in keeping the past alive. That’s why we reintroduce design classics like the EIERMANN collection and the TOKIO lamp—our way of paying homage to the masters, whose personal imprint and unique outlook remain a source of inspiration and admiration. Names. Very

PLEASE don’t WAIT to EXPLORE our collection. We love nothing better than to show-and-tell our designs.

PLEASE WAIT TO COME UP WITH A COOL NAME.

Names. Very important. Ours was somewhat of a coincidence. Inspired by some friends, who in our opinion had come up with some very cool names for their companies, we wanted a name that was more like a sentence, or at least something with more than one word. Like a saying or a concept of sorts. What happened was, that the day we went out for lunch to talk about our name, we went to a small restaurant inside a Copenhagen park. As we we’re sitting there, waiting for our food, we noticed the handwritten sign at the door saying Please wait to be seated. We had actually been looking at it for a while, talking about how cool it sounded, but without connecting it with the fact that we we’re there to try and find a cool name that was a sentence, for our design studio, that makes furniture. And then we did. It’s a great name.
